Dinner Groups

This is a fellowship opportunity to meet and make new friends at the First United Methodist Church outside of the church walls.  In the fall each year, members and friends sign up to participate in a group that meets about every two months, fall through spring, for dinner and fellowship.  You will host a dinner in your home only once and when others host, you are asked to bring a salad, appetizer, or dessert.

Christian Fellowship

People meet monthly (usually the second Saturday evening) from September through May in the Fellowship Hall for a potluck, fellowship, and a mission focused program.  In the fall of each year, Christian Fellowship sponsors the Time & Talent Auction that raises funds for the youth mission trip, equipment for the church, and funds for mission projects selected by Christian Fellowship.  In the spring of each year, the Christian Fellowship sponsors an annual backpack ministry program.  This ministry responds to Christ’s concern for prisoners (Matthew 25:36, 29, 42) by assisting prisoners released from the Douglas County Correctional Facility and other Denver metropolitan jails.  For more information, call Mike Vitek at (303) 681-2984, Leah Howard at (303) 814-8945, or Tom Johnson (303) 688-4736.

United Methodist Men

United Methodist Men meet the third Saturday of each month for a lunch meeting.  Please join us at 11:30 a.m. for lunch at Pegasus Restaurant in Castle Rock.  Or, you may also join us for coffee at McDonald’s off Wolfensburger Road each Tuesday morning at 8:45am.

United Methodist Women

The United Methodist Women is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.  We have three different circle groups that you are able to become a part of.

Love Circle

Leah Circle

Ruth Circle

Meets the second Tuesday of the month (except August and weather permitting) at 1:00pm, at the church in the library.

Meets the second Thursday of the month (Sept-May) at 12:00pm for a potluck lunch.

Meets the last Monday of the month at 6:30pm at Panera Bread.

The Love Circle clips labels for Red Bird Mission and is currently enjoying inspirational videos and discussions.  It is a casual and friendly gathering and we would love to have you join us.

Leah Circle meets for a potluck luncheon, fellowship, devotions and a program.  We participate in the Harvest Dinner, Christmas Cookie Walk, help provide food for funeral luncheons and bring new toys for the “Birthday Room,” at the Douglas/Elbert Task Force in Castle Rock.

If you have work or activities during the day, this is a great way to be in fellowship with women from all walks of life!  We spend time catching up with each other, devotions, a program, and prayer.

Small Groups

Small groups come in many shapes and sizes at First United Methodist Church.  These small, caring groups meet on a regular basis and may involve study, praying, serving, eating, and laughing together.  We enjoy the opportunity for spiritual growth, strengthening our understanding and relationship with God, community service, but most of all a trusting Christian fellowship.  Together we seek an understanding of our Christian role in our Church and our world.  We support and encourage one another during times of joy and concern.  John Wesley, founder of Methodism, encouraged small groups in his ministry and even today we feel that our Church is strengthened by the existence of small groups.
