Communications

Church communications is key to congregational health.

The Church newsletter is a monthly publication full of news and inspiration.

The Church blog has the weekly bulletin and other upcoming events and information. 

If you have questions about an event or need help please email the Church office. 

Guidelines for Submitting Content to CRFUMC

Communication is key to the success of the Church and we want to make sure your team's ministry or Church event has ample time to be communicated. To make the process of uploading and sharing your submissions smoother, we have compiled some submission guidelines below. 

 

Please check that your files meet these guidelines before submitting them. If you have questions, feel free to email: matt.franks@fumccr.org 

 

General

  • Please email all submissions to matt.franks@fumccr.org

  • Consider giving 4 weeks’ notice so that you can have a bigger reach to connect with people. 

  • Keep the announcements simple, think like a commercial, we need to know the Who, What, When, Where and whom to contact for questions. First and Last Names, please. 

  • Please indicate if you would like your submission to be posted to:

    • Weekly Connection Email and Connection Section in the Bulletin. 

    • The Website

    • Newsletter  

    • Social Media Platforms 

    • Announcement Slides on Sunday

  • Weekly Connection Email content must be submitted on Monday at 4 p.m. 

  • Please submit any materials for Sunday worship no later than the Monday before the Sunday you wish your content to begin to be shared.

  • Newsletter Articles are due on the 21st of every month. 

Articles and Announcements

  • Articles must be in doc/docx (Microsoft Word) or typed/copied into the email itself.

  • Please do not send articles/announcements in PDF file format. 

  • Images to go with your article/announcement must be in JPEG or PNG format and send them separately not embedded in your document. 

  • If you are sourcing an article from another platform or website, please provide the URL and source information.

Slides for Screen 

  • Preferred slide size is Widescreen 16:9 or 1920x1080 px 

  • If you are submitting a slideshow, the file must be a Microsoft PowerPoint file or PNG format. 

  • Please use large easy-to-read fonts. Small fonts are harder to read at a distance. Keep the font above 60 pt. 

  • Slides need to be emailed to the office by Wednesday to make it for the following Sunday. 

Photos

  • Photos must be in JPEG or PNG format.

  • Photos may be submitted via email, Google Drive, Google Photos, or Dropbox. Please allow extra time for photos to be downloaded and resized, if necessary.

  • Landscape/horizontal pictures are preferred. 

VIDEOS

  • Videos in MP4 or MPEG-1 formats. 

  • Videos may be submitted via email, Google Drive, Google Photos, or Dropbox. Please allow extra time for videos to be downloaded. 

  • Landscape/horizontal videos are preferred.
