Christmas Eve Service Invitation
Celebrate the joy and wonder of Christ’s birth with us this Christmas Eve! We offer three worship opportunities: 4:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m., and 11:00 p.m. Each service is filled with the beauty of carols, the warmth of candlelight, and the timeless story of God's love come to earth. Whether you’re looking for a family-friendly gathering or the peaceful quiet of midnight worship, there’s a place for you here. Bring your loved ones, neighbors, and friends as we extend the invitation of Christmas to our whole community. Together, let’s share the light and love of Jesus this season!

Christmas Photo Op: Anyone who would like a Christmas photo taken in front of the sanctuary Christmas Tree, please stay after each church service this coming Sunday, December 22. Individuals, couples, families, and small group photos will be made available to you via email or text. Additionally, these photos will be used in our sesquicentennial commemorative photo book to be published in the new year. If desired, you may opt out of being included in the photo book, but still have a digital copy of you photo.
The Sesquicentennial Stars that people began painting in July have graced one of the live trees in Festival Park since Star Lighting and have been replenished on a weekly basis. On Christmas Eve the tree that was our “giving tree” in the Narthex will be transformed with more than 100 of our commemorative stars. We invite each family to take one star home with them as a reminder of the star in the East that guided the Wise Men to Bethlehem as well as the light and love that radiates from our own church family. If you see people attending whom you do not know, invite them to take a star, too.
Celebration of Life : Word has been received of the passing of former FUMC-CR member Cheryl Bumgarner. Services will be held on December 21 at 2 p.m. at Cielo at Castle Pines, 485 West Happy Canyon Road, Castle Rock, Colorado, with a reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local art society or plant a tree in Cheryl’s name to honor the forests she loved to hike in.
Tuesday Morning Bible Study is in recess until January 7 when we will begin our study of Words of Life:Jesus and the Promise of the Ten Commandments Today by Adam Hamilton. This book brings modern eyes to the most important set of ethics in history. If you have been looking for a Bible Study group, please consider joining us from 9:30-11:00 am in the church library. The books are available for purchase on line.
Donna Murray’s 50+ years of service as organist, pianist, and all-around faithful servant will be celebrated on December 29 with a brunch in Fellowship Hall. There is a sign-up sheet for food contributions as well as a basket for cards at the Welcome Center.
Our Little Library (located on shelves next to the church library) has added some Christmas-themed books and other new titles. Take, borrow, or trade one-for-one. You might just spot a good book to give as a Christmas gift.
Grocery Store Shopping
It’s a “win-win” when you use your Safeway or King Soopers community card to purchase nonperishables for our December Reverse Advent Calendar for Help and Hope. 5% of your money spent is returned to the church. And it’s a “win-win-win” if you pay with a card that provides airline miles or other perks. Lists of items for each week can be picked up at the Welcome Desk.
