Contemporary Study’s Lenten Study
Book: Remember: God's Covenants and the Cross
By Susan Robb
Rev. Sarah’s Contemporary Issues Group will discuss Susan Robb’s book during Lent. The book traces God’s covenants throughout the Old Testament, showing the character of God’s promises to the people of Israel. The author leads readers through the covenants with Noah, Abraham, Moses, and David, followed by the new covenant established on Maundy Thursday. The Lenten story culminates with an examination of the cross as another example of God’s promise for a new world.
In Person: February 23 to March 30 6:30 to 8:00PM
Zoom: February 20 to March 30 6:30 to 8:00PM
Contact Rev. Sarah for a Zoom Link at sms11@mindspring.com

Tuesday Morning Bible Study
Starting February 24th at 9:30 a.m. our group will read and discuss Max Lucado’s book He Chose Nails. Every gift from God reveals his love, but no gift reveals his love more than the gifts of the cross. These gifts came not wrapped in paper but in passion. They were not placed around a tree but around a cross. They were not covered with ribbons but sprinkled with the blood that Christ shed on our behalf.
The book is $10.00 and may be purchased online at Cokesbury or Amazon. Come join us at 9:30 am on Tuesdays in the church library.
Communion During Lent
Communion will be served following Worship during Lent. In the Library Starting 2/22

“God tells you where to look; love tells you what to see.” ― Matshona Dhliwayo
Weekly Prayer:
Fill us Lord with your compassion, give us your eyes to see, give us boldness and selflessness and wisdom, so that we too might cry out for justice and feed the hungry, so that your light might shine throughout the earth. May we lift up the children among us who are poor and marginalized, finding themselves in circumstances they did not choose and helpless to change. We lift up AIDS orphans, children of war, children suffering abuse and neglect, children struggling with malnutrition and disease, lacking education, housing or the most basic of life’s necessities. Might they somehow come to know the love of their Creator, who knows each hair on their head and collects their tears. Amen
We Pray for...
We invite you to pray for, just say their name, pause, and pray Lord in your mercy hear this prayer.

"Serve Joyfully" webinar on missiology
In the lead up to the gathering, the Council of Bishops is working with United Methodist Communications to host a series of three webinars open to all United Methodists. These webinars will focus on how the vision statement’s call to “love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously” connects back to the denomination’s mission and Wesleyan theology. The webinars are free and recordings will be made available publicly. Each will be roughly an hour and half in length.
The second webinar is themed "Serve Joyfully" and examines Wesleyan approaches to mission, with attention to mutuality, formation, and decolonial perspectives. Participants will engage how mission is practiced in relationship, shaped by context, and grounded in a call to serve with humility and joy.
The webinar is scheduled for February 21, 2026 9:00am Central Time.
A recording of the webinar will be available to the public.
Help Shape the Future of The United Methodist Church
The Leadership Gathering Design Team invites leaders across the connection to participate in this survey as part of the ongoing preparation for the 2026 Leadership Gathering. Your voice will help inform how the church listens, discerns, and leads together in the years ahead.
Estimated completion time: 10–12 minutes
