Knot Again Date Changes: The Knot Again group will meet on May 8 at 6 pm instead of its normal third Thursday.  If you have been hoping to join this group and are not on Kari Sorah’s mailing list, please contact her to be sure the group is meeting (kasorah@yahoo.com). There is a possibility that the June date will be cancelled.

Leah Circle: Leah Circle will meet on Thursday, May 8, at 11:45 for a potluck lunch in Fellowship Hall. This is our last in-house meeting of the year before we gather in June and July at a local park. For more information in joining this group, contact Maryalice McHugh (maryalice3150@yahoo.com).

Mother’s Day, Help and Hope Collection: Once again, we will be holding a food drive to support the local Help & Hope Center which, in turn, helps those in our community.  They are looking for all sorts of baby items, especially diapers and formula. We will be handing out grocery totes to be filled following each service on May 4th with the items to be returned to the church on or before Mother’s Day (May 11th).  The need continues to be as great as ever and we thank you in advance for any donation that you are able to make.

Little Blessings, Teacher Appreciation Day: Our HOME Team (Hospitality, Outreach, Missions, and Evangelism) is hosting a breakfast for the staff of Little Blessings on Thursday, May 8 at 8 am. If you would like to help provide breakfast items for this event and/or help serve, please contact Julie Bailey (juliesings@gmail.com).

Youth Mission Trip Assistance: To support the youth mission trip to Cookson, Oklahoma, in June, we will be having a gift card fundraiser to be used to purchase necessary supplies at our various project sites. We are accepting gift cards to either Walmart or Lowes only in any dollar amount you would like to contribute. Gift cards will be collected in person by our youth every Sunday in May at a table set up just outside of the church office. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

Church Cookbook Update: The church cookbook is taking a bit longer than anticipated to produce. Nearly 40 people have contributed well over 150 recipes. Organizing them, proofreading them, and being creative with the cover and photographs take time.  Our new launch date is August 31, and the book will be available in 3 formats: 5x7, 8x11, and thumbdrive. Watch for more details in future newsletters. If you submitted a recipe, please check the master list posted at the welcome center for these requests:

Does your name appear on the master list?  Is your name spelled correctly?

Please add your name if it is missing and initial the box next to your name to verify it is okay. If you have photos to submit, please send them to Kari Sorah (kasorah@yahoo.com before June 1.

Senior Sunday, May 18: The day we honor our high school, college, and trade school graduates is fast approaching. If you would like to have your son, daughter, or grandchild honored on May 18, please complete the following information and return it to Josh Hay at  josh.hay@gmail.com by May 15.

Contemporary Studies Group New Book Invite: You're warmly invited to explore C. S. Lewis's insightful reflections on prayer in How to Pray: Reflections and Essays. Delve into fundamental questions about prayer and discover practical wisdom to deepen your relationship with God. Let’s walk the path together.

Quote for the Week

Each day is precious when we consider what we can do to serve God and His Kingdom.~ Elizabeth George

Weekly Prayer

God of love, help us to use the gifts you give us for the people who need us.  Help us to see their need and, inspired by your Son, reach beyond ourselves, beyond our institutions, to the very margins and bring all to you, the center. May all we do be in preparation to serve more fully, seeking you in the world that we are invited to create with you.  Send your Spirit to keep us aglow with the desire of justice.

Loving God we lift up to you
