Gift cards will be collected in person by our youth every Sunday in May at a table set up just outside of the church office. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

Church Cookbook Update: The church cookbook is taking a bit longer than anticipated to produce. Nearly 40 people have contributed well over 150 recipes. Organizing them, proofreading them, and being creative with the cover and photographs take time.  Our new launch date is August 31, and the book will be available in 3 formats: 5x7, 8x11, and thumbdrive. Watch for more details in future newsletters. If you submitted a recipe, please check the master list posted at the welcome center for these requests:

Does your name appear on the master list?  Is your name spelled correctly?

Please add your name if it is missing and initial the box next to your name to verify it is okay. If you have photos to submit, please send them to Kari Sorah (kasorah@yahoo.com before June 1.

As summer approaches, we're excited to share our plans for a vibrant season of worship, community, and service at Castle Rock First United Methodist Church. There are many ways for you to participate and connect with us this summer!

Kick-Off Event: Combined Worship, Brunch, and Church Work Day - May 25th at 8:30 a.m.

We'll begin our summer rhythm with a special combined worship service at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 25th. Following the service, we'll enjoy a church-wide brunch and then come together for a work day to care for our church space. It's a wonderful opportunity to build community and serve together!

Summer Worship Schedule (Beginning June 1st):

  • 8:30 a.m. - Outdoor Chapel Service (Weather Permitting): Join us for an informal and uplifting worship experience under the open sky. Feel free to bring your coffee and a hat!

  • 10:00 a.m. - Modern Service (Indoors in the Sanctuary): Our Modern service will continue indoors.

Ways to Get Involved This Summer:

1. Be a Part of Our Outdoor Worship Team:

Worshiping outdoors is a special experience, and you can help make it happen! We need volunteers to assist with:

  • Set-up: Arranging chairs, music stands, and sound equipment before the 8:30 a.m. service.

  • Take-down: Helping to pack up equipment after the service.

  • Golf Cart Driving: Transporting equipment as needed.

If you're interested in volunteering, please sign up at the Welcome Center or let Pastor Matt know. We will hold a brief training session for new volunteers on Sunday, May 18th, after Disciples Table. Come learn how you can contribute!

2. Sing with the Pop-Up Choir:

Our beloved Pop-Up Choir will return for the 8:30 a.m. Outdoor Chapel service! This is a fantastic opportunity to share your voice without any long-term commitment. Simply join us for a quick mic check and warm-up at 8:00 a.m. at the Outdoor Chapel before the service.

3. Share Your Musical Gifts:

Do you enjoy singing solos or duets? We invite you to share your talents during our summer worship services! Please contact Rev. Matt or Nancy Docksey to schedule a time to share your music.

4. Suggest Your Favorite Hymns:

Is there a hymn that holds special meaning for you? We would love to include your cherished songs in our summer worship. Please send your hymn suggestions to Pastor Matt. Your selection could be a source of inspiration for our entire congregation!

We eagerly anticipate a summer filled with joy, meaningful connections, and the simple beauty of worshiping together. Whether you lend a hand with set-up, raise your voice in song, or share a beloved hymn, your presence and participation are valued at Castle Rock FUMC.

We look forward to celebrating this season of faith and fellowship with you at Outdoor Chapel!
