Mother’s Day, Help and Hope Collection: Once again, we will be holding a food drive to support the local Help & Hope Center which, in turn, helps those in our community.  They are looking for all sorts of baby items, especially diapers and formula. We will be handing out grocery totes to be filled following each service on May 4th with the items to be returned to the church on or before Mother’s Day (May 11th).  The need continues to be as great as ever and we thank you in advance for any donation that you are able to make.

Tote Bags for Help and Hope Collection: Since we unexpectedly ran out of bags to distribute on May 4, we’re asking you to donate your own grocery tote bags along with donations of nonperishable foods, baby items, such as diapers and formula. These items to be returned to the church on or before Mother’s Day (May 11th).

Youth Mission Trip Assistance: To support the youth mission trip to Cookson, Oklahoma, in June, we will be having a gift card fundraiser to be used to purchase necessary supplies at our various project sites. We are accepting gift cards to either Walmart or Lowes only in any dollar amount you would like to contribute. Gift cards will be collected in person by our youth every Sunday in May at a table set up just outside of the church office. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

Church Cookbook Update: The church cookbook is taking a bit longer than anticipated to produce. Nearly 40 people have contributed well over 150 recipes. Organizing them, proofreading them, and being creative with the cover and photographs take time.  Our new launch date is August 31, and the book will be available in 3 formats: 5x7, 8x11, and thumbdrive. Watch for more details in future newsletters. If you submitted a recipe, please check the master list posted at the welcome center for these requests:

Does your name appear on the master list?  Is your name spelled correctly?

Please add your name if it is missing and initial the box next to your name to verify it is okay. If you have photos to submit, please send them to Kari Sorah (kasorah@yahoo.com before June 1.

A huge and heartfelt THANK YOU  . . to ALL the wonderful FUMCCR cooks who brought me food and company when I
