Updated Help and Hope Numbers

So far this year we have been able to collect 1,338 lbs of items for Help and Hope.

Photo Directory Assistance

Pastor Matt is looking for a few people to help with updating photos and data in the church online directory. If you are able to help, please let him know.

“Play Ball!” VIPP needed for a Vibes GAme

We are looking for someone to be our Very Important Point Person for a Rocky Mountain Vibes baseball game anytime they are playing in Colorado Springs this summer. If you would like to put this together, check out their group info: https://www.vibesbaseball.com/Group_and_Hospitality/Group_Outings

Prices are reasonable and groups of 20 or more receive a discount. As usual, we can find a bus driver to provide transportation for those who prefer not to drive.

Latest Cookbook Up-date:

At its last meeting the Cookbook Team decided to go with just one size for our church cookbook — a large-print, spiral bound, 8 x 11 booklet. At a cost of $10, this cookbook they make great gifts for the cooks in your family. A new sign-up sheet at the welcome center reflects this change and those who pre-ordered any version of the cookbook remain on the list. This wonderful cook book includes many recipes for the dishes served at our church potlucks and auctions as well as the recipes archived in previous church cookbooks. Photos, prayers and many wonderful food quotes have been included. Copies will be available for pick-up in late August. Use the sign-up sheet to pre-order a cookbook . . . or two or three.

Dinner Groups Capstone Potluck:Everyone who was part of a dinner group this past year will want to celebrate with the larger group at a potluck following the 10 am service on June 22. Help with set-up and clean-up is always appreciated. Contact Pastor Matt at matt.franks@fumccr.org

Outdoor Service Assistance: If you can help with set-up and take-down of materials used during our outdoor service this summer, please sign-up at the welcome center or let Pastor Matt know.

Be a Very Important Point Person:  Have an idea from an event be a VIPP: What is a VIPP: The Very Important Point Person program provides a path for volunteers to organize social and educational events such as outdoor activities, museum trips, and concerts. Interested individuals can sign up at the Welcome Center to become a VIPP for one activity. For more info about this check with Pastor Matt

Quote for the Week

We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

Weekly Prayer

God of compassion In the face of challenges that seem insurmountable, I place my trust in you. I know the toughest of times. Grant me the hope to see possibilities where others see obstacles, and the faith to persevere in the midst of adversity. With your love as my shield, I am ready to confront any challenge with resilience and determination.  Thank you for being my rock and my fortress. Amen
