2023-2024 Stewardship Campaign: John Wesley the founder of the Methodist movement, gave a remarkable sermon called “The Use of Money.” In it, he said that the important thing isn’t money itself but how we use it. Wesley’s surprising advice still rings true today: earn all you can, save all you can, give all you can. Our 2023-2024 emphasis will be center around John Wesley’s use of Money looking at the book: Earn. Save. Give.: Wesley’s Simple Rules for Money, developed by popular author and pastor James A. Harnish. Today you will be given stewardship campaign cards. Please begin praying on how much you are willing to commit to 2023-2024 fiscal year. On April 2nd we will offer a Breakfast. and on May 7th we will have our Commitment Sunday.Backpack Ministry:. Backpacks will be dedicated on April 23. Mike Vitek, coordinator of the our backpack ministry program reports an enthusiastic response of donations. This ministry responds to Christ’s concern for prisoners (Matthew 25: 36, 39, 43). Our Church is the only organization that provides backpacks to indigent men and women being released from the Douglas County Correctional Facility.

Wednesday: 1 Peter 1:17-23

Thursday: Luke 24:13-35

Friday: Proverbs 3:13-14

Quote of the Week

I sometimes wish Jesus hadn’t said, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21). I’d be more comfortable if he had said, “Where your heart is, there your treasure will be also.” But he said what he meant and he meant what he said. Our attitudes toward money and the priority we place on our possessions are matters of the heart; they go to the core of our identity. Because of the soul-level importance of our relationship with money, we need more than information. We need wisdom. ~ James A. Harnish
