Welcome & Greeting Rev. Matt Franks

Welcome to Worship with us here at Castle Rock FUMC. Our Mission is to share the light and love of God within our community and beyond. One of the ways we live into our mission is that in worship we connect to one another and to how God is speaking to us through, prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. Let us connect to one another by greeting each other.

Hymn UMH 496 Sweet Hour Of Prayer

1. Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer! that calls me from a world of care,

and bids me at my Father's throne make all my wants and wishes known.

In seasons of distress and grief, my soul has often found relief, and oft escaped the tempter's snare by thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

3. Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer! thy wings shall my petition bear to him whose

truth and faithfulness engage the waiting soul to bless. And since he bids me seek his face,

believe his word, and trust his grace, I'll cast on him my every care, and wait for thee,

sweet hour of prayer!

Affirmation of Faith: written by Darlene A. Moore Liturgist

All: God loves us. God cares for us. God blesses us. God tends to us.

Leader: We are God's precious fruit and faithful seed.

All: God hears us. God helps us. God trusts us. God tries us.

Leader: Sometimes we are more faulty seed than precious fruit.

All: But, no matter what, we are God's.

Music: Good Good Father solo by Gail Hammond

We Pray Together

Congregational Prayer Liturgist

All: Almighty and merciful God, your Word calls us to abide in you; to so dwell in you that it is no longer we who live, but your Spirit living through us. As we abide in you, your Spirit empowers us to love, enables us to forgive, invites us to joyous worship, admonishes us to repentance, challenges us to faithfulness and obedience, and beckons us to intimacy with both Creator and creation. We bless you and praise you for loving us with an everlasting, limitless love and for entrusting to us the responsibility and joy of participating in your vineyard. Amen.

The Pastoral Prayer Rev. Matt Franks

The Lord’s Prayer found in the UMH 895

All: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Hymn No. 352 It’s Me, It’s Me, O Lord

(Refrain) It's me (it's me), it's me, O Lord, standing in the need of prayer. (Hallelujah, Lord, it's me!) It's me (it's me), it's me, O Lord, standing in the need of prayer.

1. Not my brother, not my sister, but it's me, O Lord, standing in the need of prayer.

Not my brother, not my sister, but it's me, O Lord, standing in the need of prayer.

2. Not the preacher, not the deacon, but it's me, O Lord, standing in the need of prayer.

Not the preacher, not the deacon, but it's me, O Lord, standing in the need of prayer.

3. Not my father, not my mother, but it's me, O Lord, standing in the need of prayer.

Not my father, not my mother, but it's me, O Lord, standing in the need of prayer.

Hymn of Response UMH 404 Every Time I Feel The Spirit

1. Every time I feel the Spirit moving in my heart, I will pray. Yes, every time I feel the Spirit

moving in my heart, I will pray. Upon the mountain, my Lord spoke, out his mouth came fire

and smoke. All around me looks so shine, ask my Lord if all was mine.

2. Every time I feel the Spirit moving in my heart, I will pray. Yes, every time I feel the Spirit

moving in my heart, I will pray. Jordan river runs right cold, chills the body, not the soul.

Ain't but one train on this track, runs to heaven and right back.

Weekly Prayer

O Lord, direct our steps this day into the way of peace and strengthen our hearts to obey your commandments. May the Dayspring visit us from on high and give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, that they may adore you for your mercy, follow you for your truth, desire you for your sweetness, for you are the blessed Lord God of Earth, now and forever.
