Welcome & Greeting

Welcome to Worship with us here at Castle Rock FUMC. Our Mission is to share the light and love of God within our community and beyond. One of the ways we live into our mission is that in worship we connect to one another and to how God is speaking to us through, prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. Let us connect to one another by greeting each other.

Hymn: Leaning On The Everlasting Arms UMH 133

1. What a fellowship, what a joy divine, leaning on the everlasting arms; what a blessedness, what a peace is mine, leaning on the everlasting arms.

2. O how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way, leaning on the everlasting arms; O how bright the path grows from day to day, leaning on the everlasting arms.

3. What have I to dread, what have I to fear, leaning on the everlasting arms? I have blessed peace with my Lord so near, leaning on the everlasting arms.

Refrain: Leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms; leaning, leaning, leaning on Jesus, leaning on the everlasting arms.

Call To Worship --From Psalm 117 CEB

All: Praise the Lord, all you nations! Worship him, all you peoples! Because God’s faithful love toward us is strong, the Lord’s faithfulness lasts forever!Praise the Lord!

We Pray Together

Hymn: Sanctuary TFWS 2164

Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary, pure and holy, tried and true. With thanksgiving, I'll be a living sanctuary for you.

Congregational Prayer. Rev. Sarah Steidtmann

All: Merciful Savior, we know what it is to grow weary and fall behind, lagging in ardor and zeal, energy and patience for the tasks at hand. You do give us work to do: proclaiming the kingdom of God, comforting the brokenhearted, caring for widows and orphans and pursuing justice in our world. And, you leave us fully able to accomplish your purposes. You give us your presence always. You empower us with your Holy Spirit. You grant us your peace. We praise you for counting us among your followers that we might love and serve you. For the sake of Christ and his kingdom we pray. Amen.

The Pastoral Prayer. Rev. Sarah Steidtmann

The Lord’s Prayer found in the UMH 895

All: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Hymn: Let There Be Peace On Earth UMH 431

Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me;

let there be peace on earth, the peace that was meant to be.

With God our creator, children all are we. Let us walk with each other in perfect harmony.

Let peace begin with me; let this be the moment now.

With every step I take, let this be my solemn vow:

to take each moment and live each moment in peace eternally.

Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me.

Hymn of Response UMH 377 It Is Well With My Soul

1. When peace, like a river, attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll;

whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, It is well, it well with my soul.

It is well (It is well) with my soul, (with my soul,) it is well, it is well with my soul.

4. And, Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight, the clouds be rolled back as a scroll;

The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend, even so, it is well with my soul.

It is well (It is well) with my soul, (with my soul,) it is well, it is well with my soul.
