Soup-er Sunday: Bring your nonperishable donations to church now through February 11 to support the food pantry at Help and Hope. We will have a space for the NFC team and a Space for the AFC team.

The Sesquicentennial Steering Committee thanks everyone who contributed to the success of our January 21 Celebration of Music and Musicians— Pastor Matt, the tech crew, the musicians, those who prepared food, and those who helped with set-up and clean-up. If you have photos of this event or ideas to share, contact any of those on this team: Pastor Matt, Joyce Morales-Caramella, Brenda Ryan, Rose Andrade, Lisa Andrews, Linda Pottenger, Karl Sarah, Laryce Kitsch, Phyllis Tumey, Julie Bailey.

Share the love! Youth Valentines are now on sale at the Welcome Center between services. Send a kind thought someone’s way on Valentine’s Day. With each Valentine purchased, be sure to put you name in the jar for at the opportunity to win the Chocolate Lover’s Basket.

Tuesday Morning Bible Study begins Jan. 9th at 9:30 a.m. a 6-week study of Adam Hamilton’s The Walk and welcomes anyone new in search of a small group to discuss scripture with us. Deepen your walk with Christ as we explore the five essential practices of worship, study, serving, giving, and bearing witness to our faith. This book can be ordered from Thrift Books, Amazon, Hoopla, or Cokesbjury. Prices vary.

Church Photos: If you have any photos to share about church events —  small group dinners or lunches, mission activities, musicians, worship services, etc., please send them digitally to Rev. Matt. (matt.franks@fumccr.org)

WOMEN’S SPIRITUALITY RETREAT May 3-5, 2024 The new location for our Women’s Retreat is Ponderosa Retreat Center in Larkspur (15235 S. Furrow Road). It’s a beautiful location set among Ponderosa Pines with sleeping facilities and gathering spaces within the same building. An extra plus: a chef who presents wonderful meals! Mark your calendar now!

Church Directory: One of the nice things about the program we are using for the photo directory is that we can update it at any time. I would like to update it so we can print the updated adenium mid. January. If you have questions speak to Pastor Matt.

Contemporary Studies Group: Is taking a break unitl the week of Feb. 12th but their Lenten Study will be on the book Questions Jesus Asked by Magrey R. DeVega

Youth Valentine Card Sales: Once again this year the youth will be selling Valentine Cards between services from Sunday, January, 21st to Sunday, February, 11th. There will be a variety of options ranging from $5-$10. All proceeds will help offset costs for this year's youth mission trip to Puerto Rico!

Teeshirts commemorating our 150th year: orders will be taken on Sunday between services at a table near the office. Place your order by February 11. The cost is $15. You may also place your order by emailing Joyce Morales-Caramella at joycemorales@aol.com

Quotes

“You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.” 2 Corinthians 9:11-12 NIV

"Time cannot be packaged and ribboned and left under trees for Christmas morning. Time can't be given. But it can be shared."—Cecilia Ahern, The Gift
