A Volunteer Opportunity: The Outreach and Hospitality Team is looking for some volunteers to make follow-up phone contact with Sunday morning guests and visitors. A script to guide conversation will be provided and the time commitment is just a few hours on Sunday afternoon. If this seems like the perfect fit for you, please let Pastor Matt know you are available.
Adult Education Opportunity: Be a VIPP (Very Important Point Person).
Building relationships within our congregation and within the larger community of our town reinforces the power and purpose of leading a Christ-centered life. We are currently looking for people to create and arrange a few social and/or educational events in coming months. The March newsletter lists a few suggestions for pleasurable outdoor events, museum excursions, community concerts, and day trips. Leadership for these activities would be a one-time commitment on the part of a single person or couple, no year-long commitment to a study group or chairmanship. Sign up at the Welcome Center if you’d like to be one of our VIPPs for one activity.
History Night, April 17, 6:30pm: If you can help with providing desserts for this special event, please sign up at the Welcome Center. Featured Speakers: are John Berry, Joe Gschwendtner, and Rev. Matt Franks. Come learn more about our Methodist roots and the people who settled in our county and town in the late Nineteenth Century, and invite your neighbors to join us.
Wanna Be An Usher?
We had a great training last night. We have a few Sundays that need to be filled. If you are interested in becoming an Usher please let Pastor Matt know.
Chancel Choir and Bell Choir welcome anyone new and interested in adding to the music ministry of our church. Lenten and Easter music selections promise inspiring additions to our worship. We have 32 robes and 3 octaves of bells just waiting for your place in worship. Bells meet at 4 pm and Choir meets at 5:30 every Wednesday. If you have questions, please contact our director Nancy Docksey (nansydocksey@gmail.com; 303-877-9085).
Prison Backpack Ministry dates have shifted to April 14-May 5. Watch for more information in the March newsletter.
Hospitality and Outreach Team would like assistance with contacting visitors by phone on Sunday afternoon. If this is something you’d like to do in welcoming new people to our church, please let Pastor Matt know. This team appreciates everyone’s efforts in welcoming visitors, greeting them and introducing them to others, inviting them to lunch, and sharing our church’s social media posts to your own page. Since many of our visitors are not in person but following us on line, sharing these posts increases our visibility.
History Night on April 17 at 6:30 p.m. promises an interesting evening of data and narratives about the history of Methodists in Colorado, and the people who settled in Douglas County and Castle Rock Save the date and invite a friend to join us.
Church Photos: If you have any photos to share about church events — small group dinners or lunches, mission activities, musicians, worship services, etc., please send them digitally to Rev. Matt. (matt.franks@fumccr.org)

Online Vespers: Attend our Virtual Spiritual Gathering every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. via our Facebook and YouTube Channels! Pastor Matt will deliver an online experience that you won't want to miss. Make sure to join the party on time!
Communion During Lent: Starting Feb. 18th we will offer Holy Communion in the Library in between services except for 1st Sunday when we will have full communion in worship.

This week's Quotes and Scripture
“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who Loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2: 20 (ESV)
“Pretenders, fakes, frauds and failures are welcome at the open tomb. Easter is the towering story of God‘s pure and authentic love. That truth beckons to us through the fog of doubt and deceit that shrouds so much of life. His love, forgiveness and grace are real. The hope and promise of Easter are real. His presence, patience and compassion are real. All of this, all that Easter proclaims is the truest truth. In that certainty we find the power to live joy filled and authentic lives. We may be pretenders, but God isn’t.” Rob Burkhart, On The Road to the Cross
